Kibby Road Over Bear Creek Bridge Replacement

MERCED COUNTY, CA

Project Description
This bridge replacement project involves removing an old seismically deficient, load-limited steel bridge and replacing it with a wider three-span cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete slab bridge on pile foundations. The scope includes RSP at the abutments, repaving approach and departure roads, and paving adjacent driveways. The new bridge will accommodate heavy loads, meets seismic standards, provides full 12-foot lanes with 6-foot shoulders, and features modern, safe, and aesthetically pleasing barriers, resolving the deficiencies of the old bridge while delivering long-term durability under county funding programs. CCME has been providing contract administration and management services, including inspection, quality assurance testing, contractor payments, and cost tracking, serving as staff augmentation to the county.

Services Provided
Services included but were not limited to; documentation of preconstruction conditions, weekly progress meetings and coordination, submittal management and review, RFI management, construction inspection, progress payment estimates, QA material testing oversight, change order negotiation and writing, and project close out including final acceptance.
